Guatemala Honeymoon Package: Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Antigua

Arrive in Guatemala City. Our team will be waiting for you and will take you to the hotel in Antigua.

Day 2: Pacaya- Sta. Teresita

Pacaya Volcano is the perfect match between adventure and nature. With a moderate effort, you will have amazing views from the summit of the Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango Volcanos.

You will go to the Santa Teresita Spa in the afternoon for a fantastic time after the walk; here, you will relax and enjoy an authentic spa.

You will bathe in the thermal waters while you are pampered you deserve.

Day 3: Walking tour

Antigua Guatemala, the third capital of the Captaincy-General of Guatemala, was founded in 1524 as Santiago de los Caballeros until 1773 when the Santa Marta Earthquakes destroyed most of the town.

After that, the capital was moved to the current Guatemala City.

The Italian Renaissance-inspired its monuments, later becoming a local style variation known as Barroco Antigüeño.

Today, you will visit some of the most significant historical buildings, such as the Cathedral, Las Capuchinas, and La Merced.

You will have the afternoon free for shopping in Antigua.

Day 4: Antigua- Atitlan

After breakfast, we head to Atitlan. When you arrive, you go directly to the lake to do Kayak.

The lake is surrounded by Volcano Atitlán, Toliman, and San Pedro and is located at 1,560 mts above sea level.

One of its main characteristics is a strong wind known as Xocomil, whose name derives from a Cakchiquel etymology that means “the wind collects sins.”

This wind appears around noon, stirring swirling waters and turning them into powerful waves.

Day 5: Lake Atitlan Villages Tour

After breakfast, we will head to San Marcos La Laguna for a Mayan ceremony.

Then continue to San Juan La Laguna, and discover how the indigenous people preserve the yarn dyeing with natural plants.

Finally, visit the local artists to learn how they extract the dyes and use them to create the most beautiful weaves using the waist and standing looms technique.

Then continue to Santiago Atitlan. This is one of the few places where Maya people still worship Maximon, who is considered a God.

This is the most significant and crucial lakeside village, the center of the Tz’utujul-speaking Maya.

Today, Santiago is a commercial place during the day. However, it turns amicable in the afternoon for those seeking to relax and walk.

Day 6: Atitlan- Flores

You will have the morning free to do some shopping on Santander Street. Then, you will leave for the national airport and fly to Flores on middays. The team will wait for you and take you to the hotel.

Day 7: Flores – Yaxha

After breakfast, transfer to the archaeological site of Yaxha, and after, you will have a guided tour of the place.

Yaxha, which means Agua Verde (Green water), is one of the fewest sites still preserving its original name.

During the tour, you will walk through its original paths that connect the fourteen restored buildings, enjoy the vegetation, and have impressive views of its river banks.

After the tour, you will enjoy a luxury lakeside view picnic lunch.

After lunch, transfer back to Flores.

Day 8: Tikal- Guatemala

After breakfast, you will be heading up to Tikal.

Tikal was declared World Heritage due to its natural, cultural, and archaeological richness.

This is one of the most important archaeological complexes left by the Maya civilization, registering 33 rulers who reigned over a vast territory of the ancient Maya World.

After the hike, you will have a luxury picnic in the magnificent jungle of Guatemala, surrounded by abundant vegetation and wildlife.

After the picnic, you will be transferred to the airport and fly back to Guatemala City.

Day 9: Home

Transfer to La Aurora Internationa Airport on time to catch your flight home.
